I was a fat kid. I had been a fat kid. I used to be fat.

Thus I've always felt inferior to everyone else? I am never the social butterfly. I'm shy, self-conscious, pretty much 'the loner' in everyone's class. I never felt lonely, I just like to be alone. Relatives used to comment that I'm an introvert as a joke.

But as I grow up, and slim down, I persuade myself that I too shall have a chance at being happy just like everybody else. I have friends who envy me for being sucha positive person I am now, never letting anything get me down. The thing is, they didn't see where I came from, they've never been to where I was emotionally at a tender age. Things like making friends which comes naturally to everyone, that 'mission', I had to work doubly hard on to accomplish. I taught myself to be the person I am now, I pulled myself out from the hell of paranoia. I'm at a happy place now, rocking between insecurities and confidence. Yeah I might still get insecured sometimes, everybody does right? Afterall nobody is perfect, there's always ALWAYS someone better out there. Cliche, but it's damn true.

A big embrace to year 2012(!) in which I'll be turning 21 and will officially be viewed as an adult! hehee!
I just hope the world ends after my birthday hahahaa

A big hug to the culprits that makes my childhood a nightmare(aside from my siblings) too! (;

Been turning to Hawker food for dinner for a while now. Priced cheaper than restaurants doesn't necessarily mean quality/taste is compromised! The super (3-5cm)thick medium rare steak above with the two hugh servings of side dishes only total up to $9.90!
No GST, No service charge somemore!

I think Char-grill bar had been extending it's business in the past months, so you'll probably see more of them in coffee shops?
FYI, the nacho cheese pasta and potato salad are my favourite side dishes (:

 

Clothes Buffet | Berrylite (Iluma @ Bugis)

Attended my first CLOTHES BUFFET at Bugis with my first best friend in life - Hazel, my cousin (:
The torturous wait aside,  it's quite fun actually!

15 minutes snatch-all-you-can in a cramped store packed with random clothings, shoes, heels, soft toys, along with 18 other people.
$45 for a clear plastic back provided by the store. No overflowing or tearing at the end of the battle lol.

I got 4 pair of denim shorts, a top, romper, and a dress. My cousin even got herself a red pair of shoes!
A piece of advise, if you do not have quick legs, hands, eyes, and are too shy & polite, it's best you not join any future clothes buffet. :x
Because afterall, the stores organised these events with clearing their old stocks as top priority.

My friend and I will be boycotting Bishamon (Sapporo Ramen) till it cease operation :x
I understand that Sapporo ramen tends to be on the salty side because of the lower temperature back in Japan but this ramen served is just too much for us.. My friend and I were constantly thirsty for two days straight after and that's crazy. I hope my kidney's doing fine

The presentation was a mess too. The onions had already 'settled down/collapsed', the seaweed was bending over, the eggs were distorted. Apparently the bowl of ramen was left on the counter for minutes too long.

From ordering to serving, service was not prompt. They could've put in more staffs, especially since it's a friday, yea? We had asked for iced water when ordering but It was so hard trying to get the waitresses' attention we gave up halfway through.

Felt sorry for my friend cus I was the one pestering her to try the ramen there ><!
But I know she wouldn't blame me la, cus she's nice like that! <3

Bf's critic: Even he can cook up this dish. Thus, I made him promise to prepare one for me one of these days. hees.

 

Fried intestines, $7.50

For something that should have been a big turnoff(intestines), the neat presentation is undeniably helpful. The crispy outer with the soft & chewy center makes a great snack. The sour appetiser & sauce aids in relieving the greasiness too. LIke (:

 

Dan Dan Mian, $5.50

It's a tad too sour for my liking. Definitely favours the baked rice over this!

I think this dish is more like western food inspired? It's really good nonetheless! The cheese & their tomato sauce goes well together. Leaves me askng for more (:
